Public Safety communications can draw new benefits when moving to mobile broadband based services: enhanced situational awareness, increased operational efficiency and better protection for first responders.
Interoperability between Public Safety organization across and inside borders in Europe is a cornerstone to bring the full benefits of such an evolution. While standardization activities are ongoing it is important that advanced projects involving user organizations from different countries and industry collaborate to pioneer the definition and prototype based evaluation of new interoperability solutions. A European led solution, feeding international standard bodies, will best serve the needs of European Public Safety and secure European options.
“Airbus Consortium is very proud to be selected for the Phase 2 of the BroadWay project. Airbus and its consortium partners, Proximus, Bics and StreamWie are engaged with a proposal combining best in class expertises, a comprehensive view of interoperability challenges, and the use of close-to-real life conditions”
Olivier Koczan, Head of Secure Communications at Airbus Defence and Space
